United Methodist Church of Geneva
Loving God ~ Loving Neighbor
“And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, set the example for us to combine personal and social piety. The United Methodist Church believes God’s love for the world is an active and engaged love, a love seeking justice and liberty. Thus, how can we just be observers? As an expression of the personal change we experience in our baptism and through a relationship with Jesus Christ, we are involved in peoples’ lives both locally and internationally.
Our church helps us think and act out a faith perspective; showing us that to truly care for peoples’ lives, we must risk interpreting God’s love, take a stand, and move toward a response no matter how controversial or complex. ”
Just show up between 4:30 & 7 pm every third Tuesday of the month at United Methodist Church of Geneva upstairs in the Dining Hall. Each dinner features a home cooked meat entree, side and salad served buffet style. The menu changes monthly–but hot dogs will always be available.
It is a great opportunity to eat with others if you wish–or take dinner home if that works better for you.
